Court Must Not Allow Dewey Developer To Ignore Voters

By Donald Gritti | Aug, 20 2010 | Wilmington News Journal

In a referendum a few years ago, we voters of Dewey Beach voted against exceeding 35 feet as a building height. DBE, a developer who wants to work in Dewey Beach, has filed several suits against Dewey Beach for the privilege of exceeding the 35-foot height limit. Parsing the law and trying to sneak through a possible loophole does not make DBE correct. They are trying to defeat the will of a majority of town residents. Hopefully, the courts will see through DBE’s actions and support our town’s voters.
