Dewey Groups Said to Step Over Finance Laws

Two organizations involved in Dewey Beach politics have been accused of stepping over state campaign finance regulations, and both groups are filing additional paperwork with state officials to correct their status.”We have had a complaint,” Elaine Manlove, the state’s Commissioner of Elections, said.Manlove said her office reviewed the activities of the organizations called the Dewey Beach Citizens Association and Save Ruddertowne LLC.According to her, Dewey Beach Citizens had not properly filed as a political action committee with the state or sent in a listing of expenditures — both of which must done by groups that spend money to influence elections.
