Striking back against low early-year occupancy rates, 30 hotels in Delaware are offering two nights for the price of one..
About 30 hotels throughout the state will participate in the “First Night Free” campaign, offering one free night if the guest pays for at least one other. The booking period is during the month of February, and the check-in period continues until May the 1st.
The hotels include some of the state’s top hotels, including the famed Hotel du Pont in Wilmington, the Hilton Wilmington/Christiana, and Dover Downs.
Hotel occupancy rates in Delaware began falling in April and by December, the year-over-year drop was 4.6 percent, according to Smith Travel Research.
