Monthly Town Council Meeting, Saturday, February 13, 2010 at the Lifesaving Station

While the meeting is scheduled to start at 9:00 am with an Executive Session (regarding litigation), the public portion of this meeting will begin at 10:30 am. If you cannot make the meeting, you can find the complete agenda and live video feed on the town’s website www.townofdeweybeach.com If you will be in town, come meet the new Town Manager Diana Smith.

Some Items on the Town Council’s agenda are:

Old business

Discussion and vote regarding the approval of a final settlement agreement with the former town manager

New business
  • Update on Calendar Year 2009 budget performance
  • Discussion of preparation of standard operating policies and procedures
  • Discussion and vote regarding a request for proposals for engineering feasibility and design work for the Bayard Ave. project, and approval on the allocation of funding for this next step.
  • Discussion and vote regarding future dates for Public Hearings regarding the Right-of-Way issues
  • Update on the Town’s efforts and challenges in changing Dewey Beach property addresses to become compliant with nation-wide emergency responder (911) requirements
  • Discussion of the town’s commitment to web casting public meetings and a possible vote regarding an expenditure for higher quality equipment
  • Discussion and possible vote regarding the addition of a Community Events Page to the town website, to provide for the posting of events not sponsored by the town
  • Discussion and possible vote to approve that town staff research legislation to permit flexibility for the date of town elections in the event of a conflict
  • Committee Reports and Comments of the Commissioners and Mayor follow, as does the opportunity for public comment (limited to 3 minutes per person).
