Voters Back Building Height Limit
DEWEY BEACH – Residents and property owners expressed overwhelming support today for strengthening the town’s 35-foot building height limit.
They voted 608-114 in favor of writing the limit into the town charter and allowing it to be amended only by a townwide vote. The decision came in the wake of a proposal to construct taller buildings at the Ruddertowne dining-and-entertainment complex.
They also elected two Town Council members and approved a 3 percent tax on residential rentals.
The winning candidates are Marc Applebaum, with 582 votes, and Marty Seitz, with 542. Kris Appel received 214.
