Dewey, Bethany beaches to conclude in January; Rehoboth to begin in March

DEWEY BEACH — The beach replenishment project in Dewey and Bethany beaches is expected to be completed by mid-January, with work beginning in Rehoboth Beach in March, officials said.
The project began in November in Dewey Beach, where a total of about 1 million cubic yards of sediment will be deposited along the shoreline. The Bethany Beach project, which also includes South Bethany, began in October and will deposit about 1.5 million cubic yards of sand, said Steve Rochette, a spokesperson for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
