The Bethany Beach project, which also includes South Bethany, began in October and will deposit about 1.5 million cubic yards of sand, said Steve Rochette, a spokesperson for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. DEWEY BEACH — The Dewey Beach Town Council is considering the formation of a Board of Ethics for the town.

Commissioner Joy Howell said the system as it stands right now is that there is a state Public Integrity Commission appointed by the state, many of whom, to her knowledge have no training or experience in ethics decisions.

Hanson abstained from the vote and was not present during council’s discussion prior to the vote, said Commissioner Joy Howell.

Council does not yet know how much it will contribute to Hanson’s legal defense. “I’ve put out $25,000 so far,” Hanson said
