Hotel occupancy rates in Delaware began falling in April and by December, the year-over-year drop was 4.6 percent, according to Smith Travel Research. Striking back against low early-year occupancy rates, 30 hotels in Delaware are offering two nights for the price of one.
“It’s some pretty serious stuff,” said William Sullivan, chairman of the Delaware Hotel and Lodging Association. “We’re looking at this promotion, and promotions like it, to give us a jump start, give us some business in this state.”
